DOL launches interactive health benefit Web site
The Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) has
launched a new interactive Web site to provide
employee-consumers with in-depth information about health
care coverage under private and public health plans.
The new site http://www.dol.gov/elaws/ebsa/health
includes explanations of federal mandates and patients
rights, as well as a glossary of insurance terms for such
concepts as pre-existing conditions and COBRA qualifying
events.
The resource is one of a series of Employment Law Advisors
that include interactive tools to help individuals
understand federal laws such as the Fair Labor Standards
Act (FLSA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the
Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act (USERRA).

The Employee Benefits Survey (EBS) is the Bureau of Labor Statistics survey of
the incidence and detailed provisions of selected employee benefit plans in small private
