According to an interesting study conducted in 2008 by ComPsych, healthy eaters reported having higher productivity levels than employees who had bad eating habits. In fact, 73 percent of employees who ate healthy said their productivity was high. Only 24 percent of poor eaters reported high productivity.

When planning and implementing a wellness program, the ultimate goal is to weave” wellness throughout the “fabric” your company’s culture. Many companies miss this concept and focus solely on data collection. An important area of wellness often missed, is the improvement of vending machine and cafeteria options that are provided to your employees.

Improving the quality of food you offer tends to pose a challenge for many organizations, due to everything from the cost of providing healthier options or smaller portions, to finding a vendor that can help you effectively improve your food options. Has your company tackled this component of wellness?
